A moist sponge soaked in tangy lemon syrup.

Ingredients

  • 200 g flour
  • 200 g butter
  • 200 g sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 lemons

Method

  1. Cream the butter and sugar, beat in the eggs, then fold in the flour and lemon zest.
  2. Bake at 180C for around 45 minutes.
  3. Pierce all over and pour over a lemon-sugar syrup.
