Tender oven-baked pear halves filled with cinnamon-spiced walnuts and a drizzle of honey — an elegant, naturally gluten-free dessert.
Ingredients
Servings: 4
- 2 ripe but firm pears, halved and cored
- 3 tbsp honey
- 40 g walnuts, roughly chopped
- 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp butter, cut into small pieces
- 0.25 tsp vanilla extract
- Greek yogurt or vanilla ice cream, to serve (optional)
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180C (350F) and place the pear halves cut-side up in a small baking dish.
- Mix the walnuts with the cinnamon and spoon them into the hollow of each pear half.
- Dot with butter, then drizzle the honey and vanilla over the pears.
- Add 2 tablespoons of water to the bottom of the dish and bake for 25 minutes, basting once, until the pears are tender when pierced.
- Serve warm with the pan juices spooned over, plus a dollop of Greek yogurt or ice cream if you like.
