Thinly sliced beef marinated in a sweet-savory soy and sesame sauce, served over fluffy rice with crisp vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 500 g beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.5 pear, grated
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Method

  1. Whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic and grated pear into a marinade.
  2. Add sliced beef and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat a large skillet over high heat and sear the beef in batches until caramelized, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Divide cooked rice between bowls and top with beef, carrot and green onions.
  5. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve hot.
