Vietnamese Shrimp in Caramel Sauce
If you are new to Vietnamese kho dishes, shrimp in caramel sauce is a fabulous place to start. Perhaps you’ll get hooked on the result (think a savory candied shrimp) and return to this preparation over and over like I have. Brussels sprouts, with their slightly bittersweet edge, are a perfect pairing with the shrimp. Rice sops up and conveys all the flavors.
